Universal Design

With high-contrast indications, large buttons, a variable-angle LCD, and a simplified layout, the bizhub 163v’s user-friendly control panel is designed for easy operation. The sharp, crisp display has easy-to-understand explanations, and frequently used buttons are easy to push. It features Arrow Menu keys, which reduce the number of buttons for simpler operability, and the new flippable one-touch key menu accommodates more one-touch keys in a small space.

Copying

The bizhub 163v boosts productivity for maximised efficiency with a copying speed of 16 pages per minute (A4 crosswise) and handy sorting and grouping functions. Copying functions include 25 to 400% wide zoom, 90-degree image rotation, 2-in-1 and 4-in-1 copy, and interrupt copy.

Printing

With the standard-equipped GDI Image Controller, the bizhub 163v can print 16 ppm^*1 at 300 dpi or 12 ppm^*1 at 600dpi, and can be used as a network printer^*2 for sharing with multiple PCs. You can print a 2, 4, 6, 9, or 16-page layout onto a single sheet, and add watermarks such as "CONFIDENTIAL". In addition, by adding the optional Image Controller IC-206, you get superior image resolution. The bizhub 163v is also compatible with the high speed USB 2.0, so you can use it as a local printer without a network environment.

Scanning

The bizhub 163v serves as a standard local TWAIN scanner when connected directly to a PC. With it, you can scan documents up to A3 size, convert them to digital data, send them to various destinations, and share them with co-workers or store for space-savings. You can also conveniently scan and attach documents to your e-mail and send them on^*.

Fax & Internet Fax^*

The bizhub 163v’s optional fax function uses the Super G3 international standard, so faxes of up to A3 size can be sent over ordinary telephone lines at high speed, keeping your communication costs down. You can also register up to 32 destination items with the one-touch dial. The internet fax function can greatly reduce telephone charges, especially when communicating with people in distant locations.

Management

The bizhub 163v features a variety of advanced features that make it easy to manage the entire network from a PC. PageScope Web Connection^*1 lets you confirm the amount of paper and toner remaining, make speed dial settings, and designate the destination for sending scanned data. Also, by connecting the bizhub 163v to your PC via a USB cable, the Local Setup & Diagnosis (LSD)^*2 function will let you register one-touch, speed dial and group dial numbers, and create initial settings for fax registrations, copy functions and e-mail¬¬ all right from your PC.
